The Gearhead Take
Straight talk from 20+ years of wrenching, racing and selling parts. No fluff, just what matters before you buy.
- On a GMT800, an intake is mostly about sound and an easy, clean upgrade. Up to 8 hp is Injen's dyno number, so treat it as a best case.
- No tune required, which keeps it simple.
- A dry filter means no oil to over-apply and foul the MAF sensor.
- Check your emissions test group if you're in California. A few 2005-2007 SULEV and hybrid engines aren't covered by the CARB EO.
